Mobile Service Sync Review: The Bay and the Van, Booked Together
Mobile Service Sync is the strongest software we have scored for a detailer who works in a shop, from a van, or both. Customers choose drop-off or mobile on one booking page, online drop-offs stop at your bay count for the full length of each job, and the shop's own drop-off and pickup rules go out with every booking. Plans start at $49 a month, month to month, 14 days free, no card.
100.0 / 100, ranked #1 of 6. Every criterion on this site is on its first plan. The one gap worth knowing before you sign up: shop jobs live on the web app and the booking page, not yet in the technician app.
The Shop Side, at a Glance
- Drop-off or mobile in one bookingIncludedCustomer picks drop it off or come to me; the mobile fee is added for them
- Bay capacity on online bookingIncludedDrop-off windows open only while a bay is free for the whole job
- Drop-off and pickup workflowIncludedCounter, key drop, waiting room, after-hours pickup, shuttle or loaner, and a ready-for-pickup text
The same three cells for every other app are on shop and mobile detailing, compared.
Drop It Off, or Come to Me
Each business is set to mobile, shop or both, and every job is marked as one or the other. A detailer set to both gets a booking page that asks the customer where the work happens, and picking come to me adds the mobile service fee as its own line on the booking.
That one question sorts the job. A drop-off goes to the shop and its bays, a mobile job goes to a van, and the mobile fee sits on the booking as a line of its own.
The Bay Count Does the Scheduling
Tell Mobile Service Sync how many bays the shop has and online drop-offs are capped there. A drop-off window stays open only while a bay is free for the whole job, which is how a six-hour coating booked at 9 is still holding its bay at 2.
Job length comes from the service: a detail runs for its own length times the number of vehicles, so a full-day ceramic job fills the day. Mobile jobs never use a bay and shop jobs never use a van, so a full route does not close the shop to drop-offs, and full bays do not stop the van.
Drop-Off, Pickup and the Ready Text
The shop chooses how cars arrive and leave: a counter, a key drop, a waiting room with a limit on the longest service a customer can wait for, after-hours pickup, or a shuttle or loaner. Each one carries instructions the customer is sent.
Shop jobs read Awaiting drop-off, Checked in, Ready for pickup and Picked up. Moving a job to Ready for pickup texts the customer, using a template the shop can edit, so nobody has to remember to call.
When the Van Goes Out
Mobile jobs run the way they do for any mobile crew. One click orders a tech's day on real drive times, the native iPhone and Android app carries the stops, and job status, inspections with photos, completion, line items, cash and check and the clock keep working with no signal, then sync later.
Online booking for mobile work is held to your hours, your service area and how many techs and vans are working.
The Car, the Thread and the Review
A plate or VIN fills in the year, make, model, trim and engine on every plan. Two-way texting with photos is included, with 1,000 texts a month on Core, and a Google or Facebook review request goes out after every job. Stock is counted per van and per shop, and comes off the count when the job closes.
What the App Does Not Do Yet
The shop workflow is on the web app and the booking page. The technician app does not show shop jobs yet, so checking a car in and marking it ready happen in the web app rather than on the phone in a tech's pocket. For a shop that checks cars in at a front desk, that changes little. For one that wants it all on the phone, it is worth knowing now.

Questions About Mobile Service Sync
- How much is Mobile Service Sync?
- Core is $49 a month for 1 user, 20 jobs a month, every feature except fleet sales and portals. Growth is $175 for 2 users, unlimited jobs, customer and fleet portals, and Pro is $299 for 5 users, the fleet sales pipeline. Extra users are $29 a month each, annual billing brings the three to $39, $140 and $239 a month, and there is no contract or onboarding fee.
- Can customers choose drop-off or mobile when they book?
- Yes. On a business set to both, the booking page asks drop it off or come to me, and choosing mobile adds the mobile service fee as its own line.
- Does Mobile Service Sync stop drop-offs when the bays are full?
- Yes. Online drop-offs are capped by the shop's bay count, and a window opens only while a bay is free for the entire job.
- Does the technician app show shop jobs?
- Not yet. Shop jobs, bays, drop-off and pickup are handled in the web app and on the booking page, and the iPhone and Android app runs the mobile jobs.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes: 14 days free, no card.
